It is too early to gauge the extent of the damage caused by the earthquake in Haiti, but the impact clearly has catastrophic implications for the country. Until we get a clearer picture of the level of damage and the breadth of the international aid effort, we refrain from amending our short- and long-term economic projections, but needless to say, when we do so, the outlook will be bleak.
