Inflation in Jamaica continues to rise at a rapid pace, reaching 26.2% y-o-y in July. While we expect price pressures to moderate due to the cooling of global food prices and the still-weak economy, inflation contamination and negative real interest rates pose upside risks to our 20.0% end-2008 and 12.0% end-2009 inflation forecasts.
