According to local newspaper La Prensa, several key leaders of the Colombian rebel group Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) were spotted in Managua meeting with President Daniel Ortega in July. The allegations, which Ortega vehemently denies, come after the Nicaraguan leader offered to act as a mediator in talks between the FARC and the Colombian government (a proposal that was quickly rebuffed by Bogotá).
