BMI View: Colombia and Panama are vying to become the next in Latin America to receive investment grade status from the major ratings agencies. Both credit stories have improved markedly in recent years, but we give Panama the slight edge due to its more market friendly policies and impressive growth prospects. Unsurprisingly, then, we continue to favour Panama's 5-Year CDS versus Colombia's going forward.
