Mining output in Peru remains at high risk of significant disruptions over the coming months on the back of planned strikes by mine workers, which include 28,000 employees and 70 unions. The groups have recently postponed strike action (originally scheduled for June 16) to the end of June, allowing Peru's legislature to convene to discuss potential pay rises and improved benefits, including pensions and a higher distribution of profits to mine workers.
