Hundreds of Nicaraguans marched in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region (Raan) and the capital Managua in protest of both the supreme electoral court's decision to suspend regional elections in three Raan provinces - Waspam, Prinzapolka and Bilwi - and the recent surge in the price of essential goods including fuel and staple foods. As a result, we have lowered the 'public unrest' sub-component of our short-term political risk ratings, dragging the total score down to 62.3 from 63.5.
