BMI View: According to preliminary data, the central government recorded a fiscal deficit of US$159.0mn between January and August 2007 (up US$92.8 from the corresponding period lat year). The higher fiscal deficit was the product of a rise in current expenditure compared to only a moderate uptick in current revenue.
