David Thompson, leader of the opposition Democratic Labour Party (DLP), has stressed that education would be the number one priority if his party was to win next year's general election. Thompson promised a comprehensive reform of the education system, including proposals to raise the school leaving age from 16 to 18, reviewing the exam-based curriculum, and encouraging more adults into higher and further education.
