BMI View: In contrast to elsewhere in Central America, inflation has been relatively well-behaved in Guatemala. The outturn in July was 5.6% y-o-y, down from its 7.0% peak this year in March - and core inflation remains in reasonable territory, at 5.8%. If anything, the pressures to prices are to the upside, as food costs remain elevated, and a low base effect should come into play in the final months of the year.
