BMI View: Exports in Q107 showed virtually flat growth, coming in at US$509.8mn, versus US$507.3mn a year earlier. While this comes as discouraging news, considering that we are projecting a US$330mn increase in exports by year-end to US$2.26bn (a forecast that is now under threat), Honduras's export markets are becoming more diversified. The proportion of exports going to the US has fallen from 38.2% in Q105 to 32.8% in Q107, while the share going to Central America has risen from 18.2% to 20.7%. Increasing demand from a more diverse array of markets should help underpin Honduran exports in the long
