Alongside Costa Rica, Panama's political risk ratings under our new methodology are in very high standing among Central American countries. The short-term rating of 78.3 reflects our view that there is little danger of policy upheaval in the next year, as most of the major decisions, including the expansion of the Panama Canal, have already been made.
