Over the past six months, BMI has undertaken a review of our Short-Term and Structural Political Ratings. This is an ongoing process which will be fully completed by the end of May. While the risk rated in both cases is unchanged, we have revised the methodology in order to (a) broaden the scope of risks covered; (b) refine the weightings of each component and sub-component to ensure that the ratings encapsulate our view of the ideal risk profile; (c) present a greater amount of data to facilitate a more nuanced approach to ratings usage by clients. Indeed, clients can now focus on the risks that are most relevant to them and monitor their evolution across time.
