Bolivian President Evo Morales has appointed a new mining minister, Luis Alberto Echazu, making him the third person to be appointed since Morales came to power in January 2006. Echazu, previously vice-minister, and mining specialist, pledges to continue implementing policies to tighten government control over the country's mining resources.
