In the most recent edition of our proprietary sovereign risk ratings, Mexico joins Chile and Brazil as the only Latin sovereigns in the A range, with the former moving up from B+ to A-. While we have long liked the Mexican macroeconomic story, the country's rating has been constrained by political deadlock, which has prevented the passage of what we consider to be essential reforms.
