BMI View: Peru's consumer price inflation (CPI) surprised on the downside in January, largely due to the relatively stable price of food, combined with a decline in transport and communications-related prices. On a month-on-month basis, CPI came in at 0.01% m-o-m, while on a yearly basis, it registered 0.64% y-o-y, marking its lowest level since August 2002.
