BMI View: Costa Rican economic activity, as measured by the IMAE indicator (a close proxy of GDP), increased by 7.9% y-o-y in the first three quarters of 2006, in a continuation of the previous year's economic surge. Furthermore, the economy appeared to be accelerating toward the end of Q306, from 7.7% in the January-July period to 7.9% in January-September.
