We remain concerned about the ongoing political instability in Bolivia. Over 5,000 supporters of President Evo Morales staged a demonstration in Cochabamba on January 8, demanding the resignation of the local governor Manfred Reyes Villa. Villa wants Bolivia to retain regional autonomy, despite the federal government's call for a referendum on the issue.
