Although it is too soon to predict a winner, we believe that Alvaro Noboa from the Partido Renovador Institucional Accion (PRIAN) stands a good chance of being elected president in the second round vote on November 26. In our view, this could mean that Ecuador would make good on its debt servicing commitments. However, given Ecuador's recent history, we remain concerned by the potential for political instability.
