Macroeconomic Forecast El Salvador

November 2010 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: El Salvador's economy grew by 0.6% y-o-y in Q210, bringing an end to five consecutive quarters of contraction. Although a positive sign, we caution that this growth must be taken against the backdrop of the weak base set in 2009, and hold to our view that the country's recovery will be weak, with real GDP growth coming in at just 2.1% in both 2010 and 2011.
