No End In Sight To Crime Epidemic

BMI View: With drug-related violence in Guatemala increasingly being imported from Mexico, and the government's fiscal difficulties preventing it from increasing funding for the security forces, we do not foresee a quick end to the current epidemic. Rather, high levels of violence will continue to hamper the economy's growth prospects going forward.
