Macroeconomic Forecast Barbados
January 2011 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: Barbados' export data continues to show impressive growth, with the value of shipments surging 87.6% y-o-y in October 2010, albeit on the back of very weak 2009 data. We expect the pace of export growth to slow significantly in 2011 as base effects turn less favourable and tourism remains weak, and are forecasting an uptick of just 3.5% y-o-y, down from an estimated 4.6% y-o-y rise in 2010.
