Soy Harvest To Boost Recovery
April 2010 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: Soybean production is expected to reach record levels in Paraguay this year, prompting us to revise up our forecast for real GDP growth to 4.3% from 1.3% previously. However, we caution that a successful harvest could give renewed emphasis to President Fernando Lugo's plans to raise export taxes as a means of funding increased spending on welfare programmes.
