May 2010 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: The pickup in Paraguay's exports continued unabated in March, with year-to-date shipments rising 26.1% year-on-year (y-o-y) in value terms. While base effects from a disastrous 2009 will continue to boost growth numbers throughout this year, we believe that the outlook for Paraguayan exporters is rosy. With just 0.8% of total exports headed for China so far this year, the country will be better protected from the risks of a slowdown in Chinese demand in the latter part of this year than many of its regional neighbours, encouraging us to stick with our forecast for 16.0% export growth
