Macroeconomic Forecast Panama

July 2010 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: Panama's real GDP growth came in at an impressive 4.9% y-o-y in Q110, a rise from 3.4% in Q409. Much of this growth can be attributed to the large 10.1% increase of the transport and communications sector, which represents 22.9% of the economy. We believe that Panama is on track to achieve our 4.1% real GDP growth forecast for 2010, particularly as the high Q110 figure supports out buoyant outlook for the Central American economy.
