IMF To Prop Up External Accounts

BMI View: El Salvador's balance of payments picture continues to worsen, with the structural current account deficit now being matched by a financial and capital account shortfall. While falling investment bodes ill for both external stability and long-term growth, we believe the country will be able to stave off a full blown balance of payments crisis for the time being, thanks to ongoing multilateral financial assistance.
