BMI View: Despite progress on the diplomatic front, Honduran President Porfirio Lobo Sosa still faces a wealth of domestic problems, ranging from growing public opposition to fiscal consolidation efforts, to the destructive impact of organised crime. While mending ties with the international community remains crucial, conditionality imposed by some multilateral bodies will continue to reduce his government's room for economic policy manoeuvrability, playing into the hands of a growing centre-left opposition movement.
