Weaker FARC Good For Economy
August 2010 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: We view the recent call from the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) to discuss a peace resolution with the Colombian government as a sign of their weakening power. Although an immediate end to the 46 year conflict is highly unlikely, FARC weakness bodes well for the country's economic growth potential over the next few years, in our view.
