China Links Growing

Maxine McClean, Barbados's foreign affairs and foreign trade minister, used her visit to Beijing in July to say that companies can benefit from mutually beneficial partnerships between China and Barbados. She highlighted the opportunities for greater cooperation to provide international investors with desirable packages combining both countries' resource and market efficiencies with effective tax planning vehicles. With Barbados's traditional trading partners - namely the US and UK - suffering from poor demand outlooks, we believe that increasing cooperation with faster-growing economies elsewhere will be crucial for growth over the medium term.
