Reserve Requirement Falls
July 2010 | Ratings UpdateJamaica and Brazil are continuing with efforts to boost bilateral relations, with an agreement on a technical cooperation project (details were not released) being the latest result of frequent diplomatic meetings. As highlighted previously, we believe that a partnership in trade and the transfer of technology with Brazil would bode well for Jamaica's economy going forward. Indeed, the island economy is set to suffer from weaker external demand over the medium term as a result of the US and European consumption slowdown, therefore a diversification in relations is a distinct positive for the nation, in our view.
