Trade Implies US Demand Falling
June 2010 | Data ReleaseWe believe Mexican trade data is already showing signs of waning demand from the US, with two consecutive months of lower volumes (in US$ terms) in April and May. With imports following a similar trajectory, we are not overly concerned about a rapid deterioration in the trade balance, particularly given the slowdown in intermediate goods imports, which make up well over two thirds of the country's import mix.
