Weaker Capital Inflows Ahead

BMI View: Despite record foreign capital inflows in Q110, we remain wary towards Mexico's longer-term balance of payments outlook. With the first quarter likely to have been the peak of investor appetite for Mexican assets this year, we caution that for the remainder of 2010 and 2011 the positive picture is likely to deteriorate somewhat, although record reserve levels should provide some degree of stability.
