Lobo Sosa Trying To Ease Tensions

Despite firm backing from the US, Honduras under the administration of President Porfirio Lobo Sosa is yet to be re-admitted into the Organisation of American States (OAS), despite attempts by the president to appease regional critics. In a recent move at external and domestic reconciliation Lobo Sosa has talked of accepting the Frente Nacional de Resistencia, a grassroots movement that sprung up in the wake of the last year's military coup, as a formal political party. While this is unlikely to satisfy all his critics, if carried through it should go some way to dampening domestic opposition.
