More Corruption Allegations

Allegations of corruption against the joint secretaries of the incumbent Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana (APRA) are taking their toll, with one of the accused submitting a letter of temporary resignation of President Alan García on May 3. The accusations are particularly damaging for the president, given that the joint secretaries were appointed as recently as February this year in an attempt to stem divisions within APRA.
