Energy Crisis To Rock Support For Chávez
March 2010 | Economic AlertBMI View: The dire shortage of electricity continues to wreak considerable economic damage in Venezuela, with intermittent blackouts making businesses' lives frustrating indeed. Although capacity-bolstering investments are in the pipeline we remain sceptical about the government's ability to close the supply-demand gap any time soon and expect the power-crisis to strengthen disenchantment with President Hugo Chávez ahead of September's legislative elections.
