Funes Meets Obama

El Salvadorian President Mauricio Funes has met with US President Barack Obama, emphasising his intention to forge a 'strategic partnership' with Washington. The meeting, during which Obama praised Funes's attempts to bridge domestic political divides, will be welcomed by the administration as a sign of the deepening relationship between El Salvador and its giant northern neighbour.
