Chinchilla Win: More Market Friendly Policies To Come

Laura Chinchilla has won the presidential race in Costa Rica on February 7, paving the way for another four-year term for the Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN). Her main policy goals are to tackle rising crime rates by boosting public spending on security, and maintaining the previous government's market-friendly approach. However, wooing the opposition will be key to her ability to implement ambitious reforms going forward.
