BMI View: Ecuador's energy crisis is increasing domestic opposition to President Rafael Correa's handling of the economy, and risks exposing what we believe is a highly unstable fiscal situation. Lack of credible economic reporting is reinforcing our concerns over the sustainability of the current policy trajectory, and suggests a painful economic adjustment is on the cards in 2010.
