Balance Of Payments Outlook: Weak But Stable

BMI View: A rapid drop in import levels to match subdued domestic demand has helped bring down Colombia's current account shortfall to within manageable limits. While we see some medium-term risks from a precarious financial and capital account, IMF backing and healthy reserves mean we have no concerns regarding the country's balance of payments for the foreseeable future.
