Government Strategy To Increase Violence
October 2009 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: Mexican President Felipe Calderón is showing no signs of easing in his battle with the country's drug cartels, despite his party's significant electoral defeat back in July. However, while he now appears to be winning popular support for his strategy, we see little hope of any let up in drug-related killings, and indeed anticipate a deterioration in the levels of violence going forward.
