The resurgent opposition Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) will, in conjunction with its allies the Partido Verde Ecologista de México (green party), have a majority in each of the 44 committees. With the PRI also having successfully negotiated 21 committee presidencies including the budget and finance committees, the ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) of President Filipe Calderón finds itself a much depleted congressional force.
