Meirelles To Greatly Enhance Rousseff's Chances

BMI View:We believe that a move into Brazil's senate by central bank president Henrique Meirelles next year, would potentially set him up as a favourite running mate for Dilma Rousseff, President Lula's handpicked successor. Meirelles's impressive credentials and has candidacy for the junior Partido do Movimento Democático Brasileiro (PMDB) could go a long way in anchoring the the party's support for Rousseff, and improve her popularity ahead of next year's presidential race.
