Support To Exporters Unlikely To Be Enough
July 2009 | Economic AnalysisBolivian President Evo Morales has offered a number of concessions to local exporters after the confirmation that US trade privileges under the US Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (Atpdea) will remain suspended. Even with this government support, we see exports falling by 22.5% this year, which will likely raise calls by the export sector for the government to weaken the bolivar.
