Second-Round Run Off Could See Opposition Victory In October
June 2009 | Political Risk AnalysisWe expect October's presidential election in Uruguay to produce a narrow result, which means that a second-round run off is increasingly likely. A second ballot could see opposition parties unite, leading to a Blancos-Partido Colorado coalition government. For the time being, though, much will depend on the ability of the ruling Frente Amplio coalition to unite behind their chosen candidate.
