Recall Vote A Risky Proposal

President Fernando Lugo has mooted the possibility of holding a recall vote on his presidency in response to calls from the opposition Partido Colorado (PC) that he should resign following the recent paternity scandal. With his popularity seriously damaged, we believe this would be a risky move by Lugo, keeping downward pressure on Paraguay's political risk ratings.
