Plagued by rural conflicts, several key defections and a deepening economic crisis, we believe the ruling Frente Para la Victoria (FPV) will head into October's mid-term elections in a precarious position. With the government's congressional majority now seriously in question, there is a danger that President Cristina Fernández will be unable to push through the economic policies needed to prevent a prolonged recession.
