Political gamesmanship has already got underway in Costa Rica ahead of the presidential election in 2010. The leader of the main opposition Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC), Ottón Solís, who narrowly lost out to president and Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) leader Oscar Arias in the 2006 vote, launched a strong political offensive against the government in October.
