BOB: Shrugging Off Global Turmoil
October 2008 | Currency ForecastWhile other currencies in Latin America are selling off hard and fast, the Bolivian boliviano continues to shrug off the global financial malaise. The BOB has outperformed almost all of its peers since the beginning of 2008, as the Banco Central de Bolivia (BCB) has allowed the unit to make up for lost ground. We expect the currency to remain at its current level of BOB6.9600/US$ through to end-2008, and see potential for further gains beyond this.
