September 2008 | Ratings UpdateA meeting between a parliamentary delegation from Brazil and Speaker of Guyana's National Assembly, Ralph Ramkarran, on September 1 is not only a step towards improving Brazilian-Guyanese relations, but could also help stimulate improvements in Guyana's own parliamentary institutions. President Bharrat Jagdeo's government has already laid out plans for greater parliamentary control of its own budget and improved communication between parliament and the executive.
