Confident High, But For How Long?
August 2008 | Risk SummaryAlthough our political risk ratings remain unchanged this month, we caution that the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will face growing pressure to tackle the burning issue of violent crime. Jamaica's short-term political risk rating is currently a respectable 63.3 out of 100, supported by solid scores in the policy-making and policy continuity subsections. However, high unemployment, rising inflation, and growing public unrest have put the social stability score at 35.0 out of 100.
