Brazil's primary budget reached a BRL11.2bn surplus in June bringing the year-to-date primary fiscal surplus to BRL86.1bn, a 20.1% y-o-y increase over the same period a year earlier. The size of the year-to-date nominal fiscal deficit (after interest payments) has also narrowed by an impressive 73.4% y-o-y during the same period, to BRL1.9bn in June.
